The Inspiration Behind the Name “Achilleion”
The Achillion collection draws its inspiration from the magnificent Achilleion Palace, a luxurious winter retreat built in 1891 on the island of Corfu in western Greece by Empress Elisabeth of Austria, the celebrated Empress of Austria-Hungary.
Known affectionately as “Sissy,” Elisabeth was admired throughout Europe for her extraordinary beauty, elegance, and impeccable sense of style, earning her the reputation of being “the most beautiful empress in Europe.”
Perched on a scenic hilltop overlooking the Ionian Sea, the Achilleion Palace is renowned not only for its breathtaking views but also for its exquisite architecture, classical sculptures, and remarkable collection of portraits and artworks.

Created exclusively for the Achilleion collection, we have also introduced “Sissy,” a prestigious contemporary cutting design inspired by Empress Elisabeth of Austria. Developed especially for this collection, Sissy embodies modern elegance while honoring the timeless beauty associated with the legendary empress.
